Sunday 31st October 2021

Large weather front came through early morning and kept a few in their beds…. shame as the front cleared about 9am and the majority of the field completed the race in sunshine (before a touch more dampness arrived later on).

Peter Taylor-Bray & Josh Hartley had a cracking head to head at the front of the field with Fraser MacDonald-Oulds coming in close behind. Joel Gomes (1st Vet) & Lawrence Eccles came in 4th & 5th respectively. Lloyd Taggart came in just behind to take 6th overall and 1st Supervet.

Ladies race was a close one with the top 3 separated by just 2 minutes. Jackie Lee led them home (1st Lady, 1st Vet) with Emily Cowper-Coles (2nd Lady) & Alice Swift (3rd Lady). Mandy Peffers was 1st Lady Supervet.

With podiums in both main categories no surprise that the Petzl Team Trophy went to Chorlton with 501 points (Buckley 2nd 390, Eryri 3rd 270).

Congrats to Joel Gomes for taking custody of the Ian Brown Memorial Trophy from Lawrence (well at least until Sheeptracks in Feb). Take good care of it.

Refreshments, soup & cakes were served in the wonderful Village Hall and a presentation afterwards. Thankfully a kind of normal again. Apples are the new beer – who knew?

Massive thanks to the Marshals, Cake bakers & Refreshment crew…. and I guess you stinky mud covered runners too. You are all fab. Much love. xxx
