Please read the following safety guidance: WFRA race organisers handbook 2019
In addition to the WFRA guidance due to length of race and time of year the following additional kit is MANDATORY:
+ Full body Waterproofs MUST be worn or carried.
+ Spare thermal layer (top & bottoms) MUST be carried.
The RO also advises carrying a Foil-lined bivvy bag/emergency shelter
The foil-lined emergency shelter can be sourced from e-bay/amazon for less than a fiver. They are lightweight and will save your life.
Full safety guidance and rules for competition can be found at http://www.wfra.me.uk/
2020 Map & Checkpoint Grids
Checkpoints could still be moved! This information is made available to those wanting to recce the course beforehand. The Race Organiser welcomes feedback and comment both before and after the race – the inbox is always open 😉
Recce info: You are an ambassador for the fell race race community. Our races need supportive landowners. PLEASE be courtious and gracious if approached by anyone. DO NOT climb fences – there are gates, stiles & step-overs. Close gates behind you. Do not ‘worry’ the sheep!
Note 1: Fields to west of Moel Arthur have agreed access for the fell race and the landowner is aware that some runners may be out for recce’s.
Note 2: Field to north of CP9 has agreed access for use but do not climb any fences – gates/stiles/stepovers only please.
O60/70 ‘short’ course is South Sheet ONLY (CP1 to 8 then pop over the hill to CP15 then 16/17/Finish) approx 20k & 1000m.
Full course is circa 30k & 1500m dependant on line taken. Stay safe – take your safety kit.
Sheeptracks Race Map 2020 – 2020 Sheeptracks 25k v2
v2 – CP13 just gets a nudge to the south east – I had put the marker next to the wrong stream junction. The grid ref on the info sheet was/still is correct. MapRunF position was also correct.
Race Info Sheet – Race Info Sheet v1
In the case of poor weather & visibility the race route could be changed at the ROs discretion either to protect runners and/or race marshals.
